Job Description

The Power Generation Chemical Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the operation, maintenance, performance, and optimization of our Power Generation fleet.

This position involves regular travel to our thermal and renewable power generation facilities in Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula Michigan, with intermittent travel to central Wisconsin and Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, performance evaluations, optimization, failure analysis, and asset management of plant cycle chemistry, makeup water systems, plant wastewater, emissions control systems, and related equipment.
  • Determine and initiate corrective actions to ensure efficient and reliable operations.
  • Manage the fleet cycle chemistry programs, including monitoring and troubleshooting of operating conditions and updating program standards as necessary.
  • Prepare engineering designs, perform engineering calculations, and ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and data analysis to optimize system performance.
  • Support and learn performance monitoring/optimization tools to ensure improved equipment and system reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects, including material and equipment specifications, cost estimates, economic analysis, proposal review, and overseeing construction.
  • Evaluate chemicals and chemical processes for safety and performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or related field)
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,896.20 - $148,170.62, based on qualifications and experience.

Work Environment

This position requires regular travel to our power generation facilities, with intermittent travel to other locations as needed.
