Job Overview

Aftermath Services is a leading provider of biohazard remediation services, dedicated to helping people during some of the most challenging times in their lives. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Shop Manager to join our Grand Rapids, MI team.

As the Shop Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing our team, managing shop operations, and supporting biohazard remediation projects. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader who excels in both operational management and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop Staff: Provide direct leadership and development of staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards and company policies.
  • Player-Coach Role: Actively manage job sites and support the Field Team in various biohazard remediation projects.
  • Manage Shop Operations: Oversee staffing, interviewing, onboarding, training, and scheduling to ensure smooth shop operations.
  • Community Outreach: Facilitate community outreach initiatives to build brand awareness and establish strong local partnerships.
  • Support Leadership: Assist the Market Manager and Area Manager with daily operations and special projects.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to service calls and manage job site bioremediation services in various emergency situations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to respond to dispatch office within one hour of receiving a call.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Occasional overnight travel, with company-provided accommodations.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record required.
  • Must reside locally and be able to respond to the shop within one hour of receiving a service call.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in biohazard remediation, construction, mitigation, restoration, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience, especially in a technical or field service environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Completion of Aftermath's Field Learning Path within 30 days and Supervisor Learning Path within 90 days of start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IICRC S540 certification or equivalent in biohazard remediation.
  • Proven experience in project management and team leadership in high-stress scenarios.
  • Customer service experience and military backgrounds are highly valued.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a history of successful community engagement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and relevant software.

Success at Aftermath Services has been found by those with experience in EMT, Mortuary Affairs, Restoration, Mitigation, Remediation, Asbestos Abatement, Construction, Pest Control, and similar fields.
