Job Summary:

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking a skilled Communications Systems Equipment Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, installation, and repair of our communications system equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform periodic preventive and corrective maintenance of communications equipment
Read prints, diagrams, and schematics of equipment to perform routine maintenance and/or repair of assigned equipment
Use test equipment in the performance of work
Replace minor parts or components as directed and assist in the installation/relocation of assigned equipment according to authorized work orders

Requirements:

High school diploma or possession of a general equivalency diploma (GED) and two (2) years of Vocational or technical training in Electronics
One (1) year of experience working in electronic equipment repair of communications systems equipment
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia motor vehicle operator's license issued from state of residence
Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) Training, Level 2; within the first ninety (90) days of starting job and maintained for the duration of time in job

Working Conditions:

Works various assigned shifts, based on a seven-day, 24-hour coverage schedule
Complies with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) safety rules and regulations
