Job Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing practices and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assesses patients' symptoms and reports unusual data to the RN team leader in a timely manner.
• Participates in developing and updating the nursing plan of care every shift.
• Collaborates with the physician to perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within the scope of practice.
• Establishes relationships with patients and families, ensuring their dignity and respect.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Tennessee; BLS certification required.
• One year hospital experience preferred.

• Must possess assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication skills are essential for this role.

Physical Requirements

This position involves heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20-30 lbs frequently, and 10lbs constantly. Sudden emergency situations may require exposure to lifting or moving objects weighing up to 150 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching, and standing are also required. Keyboard/computer use and repetitive motions may be necessary.
