Job Title: Clinical Genetics

At VCU Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Geneticist to join our team. As a key member of our Clinical Genetics Section, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, teaching, and research opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Education: Contribute to the clinical supervision and education of residents, medical students, genetic counseling graduate students, and ancillary staff.
  • Research and Scholarship: Engage in scholarship through presentations at national meetings, contributions to peer-reviewed scientific literature, and active participation in professional organizations.
  • Clinical Practice: Provide expert clinical care to patients across the lifespan, from preconception to end of life, in various clinics and settings, including telemedicine.
Requirements:
  • MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree with Board eligibility/certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG).
  • Qualification for full, unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AMBGG certification in Clinical Biochemical Genetics.
  • Experience in research and scholarly activity, as displayed through publication in professional journals and presentations at national meetings.
