Nurse Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas team.
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care and related assistance to patients of any age group admitted to the area employed.
Key Responsibilities
- Knows and conforms to the Nurse Practice Act for the State of Texas. Utilizes a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed, nursing care.
- Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel that take into consideration patient safety and that are commensurate with the educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and physical and emotional ability of the person to whom the assignments are made in compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
- Maintains required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards.
- Clarify any order or treatment regimen that the nurse has reason to believe is inaccurate, non-efficacious or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed practitioner and notifying the ordering practitioner when the nurse makes the decision not to administer the medication or treatment.
- Institute appropriate nursing interventions that might be required to stabilize a patient's condition and/or prevent complications.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current RN license in the State of Texas. BLS certification. Unit specific competencies obtained within six months of hire.
