Job Summary:

The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Sorting Room Worker.

In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, sorting, pricing, and preparing donated items for display in our store. You will also determine the suitability and pricing of items based on established standards and assist in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the store and sorting room area.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive and sort donated items
Price and prepare items for display
Determine suitability and pricing of items based on established standards
Maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the store and sorting room area

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
One year experience working in a warehouse preferred
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers
Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing
Moderate physical effort required associated with sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and carrying light to heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)

Working Conditions:

The work is performed in a normal warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
