Correctional Lieutenant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Correctional Lieutenant to join our team at the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center (KCPC). As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and facilities.

• Address and resolve problems and conflicts relating to staff and patient needs.
• Attend patient-related meetings and provide input on patient programs.
• Supervise Sergeants and Correctional Officers in the performance of security duties.
• Ensure that all security staff review, understand, and adhere to facility, departmental, and unit procedures.
• Establish and maintain communication between security and medical staff.
• Respond to and assist in resolving emergency situations.
• Coordinate patients' movements and activities with KCPC/Luther Luckett Correctional Complex.
• Maintain documentation on all officers and complete performance evaluations as required.
• Discuss areas of concern, disciplinary issues, etc. with other managers.
• Coordinate scheduling and posting of staff with Shift Supervisor.
• Prepare and conduct staff training classes as needed.
• Provide input and feedback on patient programs.
• Assist in hiring and screening of new security staff.
• Periodically review and revise departmental procedures.
• Report maintenance and housekeeping problems promptly.

• High school graduate.
• Two years of experience in corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice, social work, or a related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be twenty-one years of age.
