Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and physically fit Groundskeeper to join our team at CDE Diagnostic Center Northern CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to grounds and gardening maintenance, including mowing and edging lawns, keeping sidewalks and streets swept and cleaned, and maintaining sprinkler systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform heavy physical labor, including digging and lifting, to maintain the grounds and facilities.
  • Operate and maintain motorized equipment, such as lawn mowers and tractors.
  • Work in hot, dry, and dusty conditions to ensure the grounds and facilities are well-maintained.
  • Refer to schematics and blueprints to locate control boxes and valve locations for repair and maintenance.
  • Perform general labor tasks related to grounds and gardening maintenance.
Working Conditions

This position requires working on the school campuses of California School for the Blind, California School for the Deaf, and Diagnostic Center North. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Requirements
  • Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment and/or Test.
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation/Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
  • State of California Employment Application (STD 678).
  • Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is Required.
  • Exam Required for all civil service positions.
