Job Summary

Sycamores, a leading provider of mental health services, is seeking a highly skilled Mobile Crisis Outreach Team Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) to join our team. As a key member of our Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, you will play a critical role in providing timely support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to crisis calls and provide in-person support to individuals in need, including crisis stabilization, safety planning, and assessment for danger to self or others.
  • Collaborate with a MCOT Peer Support Specialist to coordinate care and provide follow-up support.
  • Utilize the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team van to respond to calls and provide support in the community.
  • Work closely with the 988 call center, police, sheriff, psychiatric hospitals, and ambulance transport companies to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Evaluate individuals in crisis and take measures to ensure their safety, including involuntary hospitalization if necessary.
Requirements
  • Licensed in the State of California as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT).
  • 2+ years of successful licensure and experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain relevant licensure as a condition of employment.
  • Valid California Driver License and a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier.
  • Ability to use agency vehicle with appropriate insurance for transporting consumers and adhering to federal, state, and local motor vehicle safety standards.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to physically manage and/or de-escalate consumers/residents.
  • Frequent driving to various work site locations.
  • Frequent/continuous intermittent standing/walking, occasional/intermittent sitting.
  • Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, squeezing, griping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
  • Reaching at or above shoulder level may be necessary.
  • Bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
  • Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Continuous use of near vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with consumers and co-workers, and performing job duties.
