Job Summary

The Senior Fleet Mechanic position at US Foods, Inc. is a critical role that requires troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel equipment, including tractors and trailers. This includes maintaining preventative maintenance standards, documenting repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

This position involves performing road service calls, managing inventory, and working flexible hours. The ideal candidate will have 7 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a combination of both.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate independent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with co-workers and drivers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
  • Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
  • Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class-A CDL license (DOT certified preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • (5) years of verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both.
Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary range of $22-$38 per hour, depending on relevant experience and education. Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to lift up to 120-150 pounds with assistance and to work in a fast-paced environment with varying physical demands.
