Job Overview

National Grid Renewables is seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Remote Operations Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our wind, solar, and battery storage assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control the operation of facilities to ensure compliance with safe operations, electrical system procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate communication with on-site operations teams to maximize project availability and production.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to optimize performance and maximize availability.
  • Perform diagnostic analysis of operating data to assess operating performance and identify abnormal conditions.
  • Effectively communicate abnormal conditions to management or stakeholders.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required and minimum of 2-year degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and written procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to respond to plant operational needs.
  • Must be proficient in the use of PC-based computer software including Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-year degree in math, physics, engineering, electrical technology, or related field.
  • Experience in the renewable energy field.
  • Knowledge of core transmission, generation, and electrical distribution processes associated with electric utilities or independent power producers.
