As a Pulmonary Critical Care Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the multidisciplinary critical care team, and coordinating care among the primary service and other consultant teams.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are required to assess, treat and support patients with one or more vital organ system failures with the goal of preventing further life-threatening deterioration.
You will diagnose and treat cancer, pneumonia, pleurisy, asthma, occupational disease, bronchitis, sleep disorders, emphysema and other complex disorders of the lungs.
Procedures that intensivists perform include intubation, difficult airway management, central and arterial line placement, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, ultrasonography, and diagnostic / therapeutic bronchoscopy, among others.
As a member of the academic medical enterprise, you will provide patient care and serve as a member of the Moffitt Medical Group (MMG), advancing the Institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.
Greater than 50% of the attendings time is spent in the critical or intensivist care setting.
Qualifications:
Education/Licensure:
MD or Equivalent
Board certified (or eligible) in Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine
Florida Medical License
DEA License
ACLS as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff
BLS
