Software Developer

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented IT professional to join our dynamic team at Concessions International. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a solid understanding of programming languages, and the ability to develop and maintain software applications that drive business efficiency.

This role involves writing code, troubleshooting software issues, and collaborating with other IT professionals to ensure our systems meet organizational needs.

  • Develops and modifies computer programs based on project specifications.
  • Collaborates with the head of IT department to obtain and analyze project specifications and flow charts.
  • Creates and modifies computer programs based on project specifications.
  • Coordinates and observes beta testing of new or updated programs.
  • Debugs or corrects any issues discovered during beta testing.
  • Drafts and submits proposals that include flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate the steps and logical operations involved to appropriate staff for review and approval.
  • Designs and programs applications and software to meet identified needs.
  • Coordinates with the VP of IT to ensure timelines are met.
  • Performs diagnostic testing on programs, which may include reading code or running diagnostic software to detect syntax or logic errors.
  • Facilitates installation of software, monitors performance and effectiveness after installation.
  • Provides training to end users on effective use of applications and programs.
  • Maintains and manages cloud-based systems and virtual machines in AWS or Azure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in system and software operations, modification, and system maintenance.
  • Food Industry/Restaurant experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the hardware or software used by the company such as Micros 3700 and Symphony Point of Sale (POS) system, SQL database, Office 365, Adobe, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software systems.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation.
  • Knowledge of PC's office automation software, and networking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Thorough understanding of design, testing, and modification of programs and applications.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the coding and programming languages used in the organization.
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale hardware, software, and networks.
  • Working knowledge of a programming language such as Java, Python, etc.

Work Environment

Work is primarily in a climate-controlled office building or airport facility with moderate noise level; however, occasional outdoor activity is required; occasional overnight travel and working a different shift/hour may be required.
