We are seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team in Wentzville, MO.
Job SummaryThis part-time position involves performing x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide educational materials.
- Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
- Assist technologists with preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure.
- Help file, deliver, and retrieve patient reports and charts, matching films to folders, and delivering reports to patient units/physicians.
- FOLLOW RADIATION SAFETY PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES TO PREVENT PATIENT EXPOSURE TO UNNECESSARY RADIATION.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
- Evaluate the quality of images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if necessary.
- Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and other areas.
- In emergency situations, perform limited CT procedures when a CT Technologist is not on site.
- Completion of a radiology certification program.
- No experience required.
- Ability to stand and walk constantly, use vision and depth perception frequently, and hear and speak frequently.
- Lifting and moving patients, objects weighing 0-25 lbs, and occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
