Manufacturing Process Specialist

As a Manufacturing Process Specialist at Purem Novi, Inc., you will play a critical role in supporting day-to-day production activities. This includes ensuring safety, minimizing downtime, maintaining quality, optimizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and promoting ergonomic practices. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing new product launch activities, which involve designing fixtures, implementing Poke Yoke, creating line mappings, developing process layouts, installing equipment, debugging processes, and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Submit annual capital investment proposals for the plant.
- Approve and sign off on all equipment and tooling for the facility.
- Authorize and oversee process-related procedures and improvements on the production line.
- Have the authority to stop production lines if there are quality or durability-related risks.
- Implement new product launches and conduct capacity studies.
- Schedule preventative maintenance for equipment, plant, and tooling.
- Provide production support and optimize OEE.
- Send recommendations to the Engineering Manager to update equipment or process improvements.
- Manage maintenance, PMs, and MRO inventory.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Conduct all business-related activities for and on behalf of Purem Novi, Inc., within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
- Support and comply with all local and corporate Purem Novi, Inc. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and other HSE-related requirements.
- Quality - Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and follow all ENA policies related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; look for ways to improve and promote quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Minimum seven years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineer with Motoman Robotics advanced programming and troubleshooting for a manufacturing supplier, preferably automotive.
- Minimum two years' experience with AutoCAD, Catia, or 3D modeling software.
- Practical welding experience in MIG & TIG.
- Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
