The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as a Travel LPN in the role of providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement. As a Travel LPN, you will travel locally by working in various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from home address.
About the Role
This opportunity allows an LPN to work in multiple clinical settings, demonstrating nursing knowledge and skills across various settings. The LPN will contribute to resident assessments, administer treatments, and collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary care team, ensuring the comfort and safety of residents. You will also be responsible for documenting resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to resident assessments and develop care plans that meet the physical and psychosocial needs of residents* Administer medications or treatments as ordered, while maintaining accurate documentation* Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed, including recognition of problems and recommendation of solutions* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure seamless delivery of care* Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and communicate effectively with residents, family members, and healthcare providers
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse* Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges* Obtain required department specific competencies and certifications* Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility* Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team* Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information* Experience in long-term care, preferably 6 months* Ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide the care needed* Ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation* Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public* Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program
Salary and Benefits
