Senior Benefits Manager

Position Overview:
The Senior Benefits Specialist will lead and monitor all facets of HR Benefits operations, ensuring compliance requirements are met. This role works under the general direction of the Vice President of Human Resources and is responsible for leading and achieving benefits objectives with precision, timeliness, and in alignment with IMC values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for effectively carrying out departmental goals and collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate employee data updates are reflected in the payroll systems in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure 401k and FSA contributions are properly transmitted to the vendor's system, reconcile with payroll records at both employee and company level, and audit employees' contributions monthly to ensure compliance with Plan and ERISA requirements.
- Support management in the execution of annual benefits tasks, including non-discrimination testing, annual plan audits and filings, and open enrollment.
- Complete records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
- Monitor administrators and insurance carriers' reports to ensure the organization's compliance with plan requirements.
- Ensure the organization and plans are compliant with applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
- Administer the organization's benefits programs, including medical/dental/vision plans, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans.
- Administer retirement savings plan (401k) to include loans and hardship withdrawal requests.
- Coordinate COBRA notifications, end-of-year 5500 reports, compliance testing, and plan audits as required.
- Ensure that all benefit providers' invoices are reconciled and processed timely.
- Conduct all business in a highly ethical manner, exhibiting behavior, practices, and standards that uphold IMC core values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Benefits.
- Associate Degree in Business or equivalent experience a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with extensive knowledge of employee benefits, including all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prior experience working with a broker and providing cost analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret and communicate data.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.
- Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient experience in Microsoft Suites with advanced experience in Excel.
