Geospatial Linguist and Toponymist

We are seeking a skilled Geospatial Linguist and Toponymist to join our team at Wiser Imagery Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analyzing and conflating information associated with feature data listed in the Geographic Names Database (GNDB).
The selected candidate will work closely with Intelligence Community (IC) geographic names experts to refine names information for use in all types of products and respond to user questions via the Ad Hoc Query process.
Key responsibilities will include preparing files and maps for work, accurately entering data to maintain and update the GNDB, and batching completed work into the GNDB.
Minimum qualifications include U.S. citizenship, active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance, and ILR level 2 reading proficiency in Korean, Romanian, Polish, Norwegian, Swedish, German, Arabic, Farsi, and Chinese languages.
Preferred qualifications include advanced experience with GIS software, understanding of and application of the Geographic Names Database collection methodologies, and proficiency in advanced Python scripting.
Regional Geographic proficiency in the geographies of the analyst's AOR at the SME level is also desirable.
Work will be conducted on site in Springfield, VA, and candidates are encouraged to submit a resume that explicitly addresses each of the requirements listed above.
