Job Overview

Sparks Group, a globally recognized higher education client, is seeking an experienced Senior Grant Portfolio Manager to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to oversee complex grant processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and analytical skills, with a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in clinical trial research administration and knowledge of federal regulations (e.g., Uniform Guidance 2CFR200, A-110, A-133, etc.).

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with sponsor requirements and University policies and procedures.
  • Review and reconcile expenses on Award Reports for allowability, allocability, reasonableness, necessity, and adherence to budget.
  • Monitor key personnel commitments and notify appropriate offices of significant variances. Verify the accuracy of indirect cost recovery calculations.
  • Oversee and manage a multimillion-dollar extramural funding portfolio from various sources.
  • Conduct spend analysis, forecast spending, and manage financial resources.
  • Prepare monthly grant reconciliation reports and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Serve as a resource to scientific leaders on grant financial matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong finance, accounting, and analytical skills.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience, including clinical trial research administration and knowledge of federal regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000.00 to $90,000.00, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health and life insurance, paid and unpaid time off, and retirement and savings plans to qualifying employees.
