Job Summary

The Parts Specialist I provides counter service to VDOT employees who need parts/equipment to perform their jobs. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality customer service to VDOT employees, including reviewing requisition forms, answering questions, and ensuring correct parts are provided.
  • Assist with inventory control, data entry, and inventory management, including performing weekly inventory cycle counts and assisting with Wall to Wall inventories.
  • Drive a MANCON vehicle to pick up parts and provide company documentation to vendors as required.
  • Assist with generating invoices for customer requisitions and entering vendor receiving documents in the inventory system.
Requirements
  • 1 year computer experience
  • 24-hour availability
  • Valid Driver's License with two years driving experience
  • 1 year experience with auto or heavy duty truck parts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Delivery Driver experience
  • Inventory experience
  • P1 or P2 ASE certification
  • Obtain and maintain a forklift license
Physical Requirements

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Driving, Lifting, Reaching, Sitting, Standing, Stooping, Walking

Work is mostly performed in storerooms and warehouses which may have uncontrolled temperatures and dirt/dust/damp conditions. Work is also performed in vehicles traveling to sites.
