Job Overview

Psomas is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Project Manager - Terminal Improvement Projects to join our Construction Management Team in Los Angeles. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and operational interfaces of all design and construction-related activities for Terminal Improvement Projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including airfield improvements, terminal improvements, infrastructure improvements, and more. You will have the chance to work with a talented team of planners, architects, engineers, and other technical professionals to plan and design the next wave of capital investments for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the scope, schedule, and operational interfaces of all design and construction-related activities for Terminal Improvement Projects.
  • Work with designers, contractors, and stakeholders to develop the overall planning of construction activities and identify critical milestones and priorities.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and plans for various elements of a project.
  • Oversee the design process, including managing the Design Review Team (DRT) design review process for assigned projects through all phases of design.
  • Monitor and lead efforts related to the permitting process required by the design team and contractor.
  • Manage the closeout process to ensure all documentation is completed as quickly as possible to efficiently close the project without incurring unnecessary costs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or other related technical field.
  • 5+ years' experience, preferably on airport projects.
  • Experience with projects over $10 million in value.
  • Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build.
  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • Experience in an operating/active environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP certification or any other relevant professional licensure and/or certifications.
  • Ability to work in CAD or REVIT.
