Are you an experienced administrative professional looking for a challenging opportunity to utilize your skills in policy development, budget analysis, and human resources management? The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking a highly qualified Administrative Officer to join their team.
Job SummaryThe Administrative Officer will serve as an administrative resource on policy issues for managers and staff, providing guidance on budget formulation, execution, and tracking. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations related to human resource management.
Responsibilities- Serve as an administrative resource on policy issues for managers and staff, providing guidance on budget formulation, execution, and tracking.
- Analyze and advise on administrative issues and problems, including identifying funding problems, deficiencies, or imbalances, and providing solutions.
- Assist with all tasks and activities dealing with budget formulation, budget execution, and end-of-year closeout, providing advice and guidance to managers in budget and finance areas.
- Prepare projections and estimates, direct and/or enter data into appropriate forms, and review rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for budget submissions to ensure compliance.
- A minimum of one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-05 in the Federal service, performing budget analysis and execution duties, estimates, financial tracking, and monitoring, and reconciling of budgetary reports.
- Experience must include identifying funding problems, deficiencies, or imbalances, and providing solutions; purchasing of supplies or equipment, and advising on property disposal procedures; and providing human resources management guidance in the areas of personnel actions, position management, or travel claims.
- Alternatively, applicants may qualify based on education, with a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a related field, such as Business Administration or Public Administration.
- A combination of education and experience that together equals 100% of the requirement may also be considered.
- This position is suitable for telework and may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval.
- Selectees MAY be required to possess and maintain a valid State driver's license at all times during their tenure.
- Selectees may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Individuals assigned male at birth after 12-31-59 must be registered for the Selective Service. To verify registration visit SSS.gov.
