Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist

Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist for a travel assignment in Tucson, Arizona.
Salary and BenefitsThe pay package for this position is competitive, with an estimated annual salary of $83,000 - $110,000, depending on experience. In addition to the base pay, Magnet Medical offers a tax-free stipend, details of which will be discussed during the hiring process.
Job Responsibilities- Pre-Procedure Preparation:
- Ensure all necessary equipment and tools are sterile, functional, and properly set up before each procedure.
- Verify patient information, including medical history and consent forms, before the procedure begins.
- Prepare patients for procedures by setting up monitoring equipment and ensuring proper positioning.
- Provide education and reassurance to patients before the procedure, explaining what to expect.
- Assisting with Procedures:
- Work closely with cardiologists and other physicians during cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiological studies.
- Handle sterile instruments, such as catheters, balloons, and stents, during procedures.
- Operate X-ray fluoroscopy equipment and assist with imaging during diagnostic tests.
- Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities to the physician.
- Administer medications under physician direction.
- Post-Procedure Care:
- Monitor patients for immediate complications after the procedure.
- Assist in transferring patients to recovery and provide post-procedure instructions.
- Help with patient recovery by monitoring cardiac rhythm and vital signs.
- Equipment Management and Maintenance:
- Maintain, clean, and sterilize cath lab equipment and instruments.
- Regularly check and troubleshoot machinery.
- Order necessary supplies and manage inventory.
- Patient Monitoring and Safety:
- Continuously monitor patient vital signs during procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient information and procedures.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
- Collaboration with Medical Team:
- Work closely with cardiologists, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Attend pre-procedure meetings to review patient conditions.
- Assist in evaluating diagnostic test results.
- Education and Training:
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in cardiac catheterization techniques.
- Participate in ongoing education and certification programs.
- Educate patients about their condition and the importance of follow-up care.
- Quality Control and Compliance:
- Adhere to regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
- Ensure procedures and documentation meet hospital policies and industry regulations.
