Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coding Analyst to join our team as a Clinical Coding Specialist - Revenue Growth and Compliance.

This role is responsible for pre-bill inpatient chart reviews, identifying revenue opportunities, and ensuring compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS coding rules. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute inpatient hospital coding, auditing, and/or CDI, with a strong knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily pre-bill chart reviews for assigned clients, identifying potential revenue opportunities and coding compliance issues.
  • Review electronic health records to ensure accurate coding and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to clients within 24 hours of reviewing the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain current knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS code changes, AHA Coding Clinic, and Medicare regulations.
  • Utilize internal resources, such as TruCode, I10 Wiki, and CDocT, to stay up-to-date on industry developments.
Requirements
  • AHIMA credential of CCS, CDIP or ACDIS credential of CCDS is required.
  • Approved ICD-10 CM/PCS Trainer preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited Health Information Technology or Administration program with AHIMA credential of RHIT or RHIA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of acute inpatient hospital coding, auditing, and/or CDI experience in a large tertiary hospital required.
  • Experience with CDI programs preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS required.
  • Experience working remotely required.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. Our company offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Interview Process

The interview process will consist of a case study skills assessment, followed by an audit manager/team lead meeting, and a verbal case study discussion.
