About the Role

Festival Foods is seeking a skilled Lead Meat Cutter to join our team. As a key member of the Meat Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality products and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare non-case ready meat products according to established standards.
  • Provide expertise and leadership within the sales floor, backroom operation, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Ensure all quality and quantity standards are met, including filling cases as needed.
  • Support teammates and contribute to a positive department culture.
  • Increase sales by focusing on details and ensuring visually appealing products.
  • Contribute to overall department goals and objectives by assisting other areas as needed.
  • Reduce shrink by following production lists, recipes, and accurate trim standards.
  • Ensure quality and date control standards for meat products.
  • Properly package, label, and store meat products according to company policies.
  • Assist in training Utility team members on grinding, sausage making, and other tasks.
  • Contribute to overall department cleanliness and lead by example with equipment operation, maintenance, and sanitization.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests at the service counter and providing expert knowledge on meat products.
  • Collect special orders and complete them in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Meat Cutter experience required.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and personnel.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of perishable foods.
  • Must be over 18 years old.
Physical Demands
  • Stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
  • Lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
Work Schedule

The Lead Meat Cutter is an hourly position that may be part-time or full-time, with a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays.
