Accounting and Bookkeeping Role at Oles + Associates LLC

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team at Oles + Associates LLC. As a key member of our firm, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and assisting with tax preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform bookkeeping and payroll services for clients, including timesheet calculation and submission to third-party payroll services.
  • Prepare quarterly payroll tax forms and payments for clients.
  • Prepare and process payment of sales tax returns for clients.
  • Prepare client workpapers.
  • Prepare year-end closings and financial statements.
  • Prepare a variety of business and personal tax returns.
  • Monitor in-house and external deadlines to ensure compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the firm's partners or professional staff.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and exercise time management skills.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency with all Microsoft applications and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience using QuickBooks and QBO preferred, experience with Sage is a plus.
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters Accounting Suite including Ultra Tax, Fixed Assets CS, Accounting CS, Planner CS, File Cabinet CS, and Practice CS is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in a CPA firm is highly desired.
  • Willingness to work overtime during tax season and other peak times throughout the year as needed.

Work Environment:

  • 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday.
  • Every Saturday during tax season.
  • High school or equivalent (required).
  • Two-year accounting degree (required).
  • Four-year accounting degree (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience (preferred but will train the right candidate).
  • 3 years of experience (required).
  • Public accounting experience (preferred).
