Job Summary
The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for delivering optimal client experience, operational effectiveness, and efficiency through function activities necessary to control and ensure a timely and accurate payroll tax filings and payments.
Key Responsibilities
Ensures all policies, procedures, and legal requirements are being followed and enforced.
Resolve issues and complaints from internal and external customers to ensure the highest level of customer service.
Responsible for recommending ways to continually improve own workflow, the department workflow, and delivery of solutions for the customers of the functional area.
Make sound decisions which have the potential to impact multiple jobs and employees within the department or closely linked departments.
Additional Responsibilities
Ensure accurate and timely processing of tax filings and payments for U.S. Canada and Puerto Rico Federal withholdings (W-2, T-4, and RL-1), state withholdings and unemployment taxes.
Correct reconciliation errors where needed to prepare/file amended returns as necessary.
Research and respond to Federal, State and Local tax agency tax notices.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of five to seven years' experience in payroll tax.
