Job Title: Internal Medicine Nurse

At Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Internal Medicine Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced office setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Murfreesboro Medical Clinic in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Greet guests and incoming calls in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner.
  • Set up exam rooms and assist doctors with office exams and procedures.
  • Provide patients with proper education concerning medication and treatment.
  • Clean exam rooms after use.
  • Be flexible when asked to stay past your scheduled work time to accommodate patient needs.
  • Complete all Healthstream assignments on time.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize workload to maintain efficient patient operation in the department.
  • Communicate with patients about lab results, questions, medications, symptoms, etc.
  • Notify patients of test results as directed by doctors and chart all contacts.
  • Process prescription refill requests.
  • Administer injections, maintain, and disperse drugs from the supply closet.
  • Chart all communications with patients, call prescriptions to pharmacies as directed by doctors, file lab work, radiology reports, and other documents in patient charts.
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications, MRIs, etc.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate patient service.
  • Meet or exceed patient, doctor, and staff expectations through a cooperative, teamwork approach.
  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all Murfreesboro Medical Clinic policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong skills in communicating effectively with coworkers, providers, and patients.
  • Ability to conduct daily functions in an appropriate, professional, and compassionate manner.
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient and timely manner; attention to detail and well-organized.
  • Teamwork attitude.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing demands.
  • Ability to react calmly and competently in stressful situations.
  • Effectively utilize computer systems and programs necessary to complete daily tasks.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or Certified Nursing Assistant Program or have a current Nursing License in the state of Tennessee (LPN).
