Job Description

Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center seeks an experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead pharmacy operations in a level 1 trauma and teaching hospital.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide pharmacy services oversight of TMC Adult, Children's, Heart and Vascular, Cancer Center Infusion Center, and various outpatient pharmacy services.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve efficiency and quality of pharmaceutical services.
  • Select, train, mentor, evaluate, and counsel staff as appropriate.
  • Prepare annual budget, control, and reduce costs, forecast operational needs, and review expenditures.
  • Communicate with staff and promote staff ownership in problem-solving and participation in operational decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Master's degree is highly desired, and Doctorate of Pharmacy degree preferred.
  • Completion of ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency or fellowship or demonstration of equivalent experience preferred.
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a hospital pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility, and deal effectively with change.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in Caring process by integrating our culture in all internal and external customer interactions.
  • Evaluates operations on an ongoing basis, utilizing the principles of continuous process improvement.
