Radiation Oncology Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our team at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. As a Radiation Oncology Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our radiation oncology team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform baseline assessments on new radiation oncology patients and follow up patients, reviewing medical records and comparing assessment data.
  • Conduct weekly and PRN assessments to identify side effects of radiation and report changes in patient status to physicians.
  • Implement plans of care in accordance with established standards, guidelines, and protocols.
  • Coordinate and participate in emergency management and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Evaluate and assess patient education and learning needs, providing information to patients and significant others.
  • Function as a patient advocate, respecting patients' rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience, oncology experience preferred.

Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

All qualified candidates are required to pass a background check and non-federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employment and prior to hire. Candidates will be required to show proof of being vaccinated against influenza upon commencing employment.
