We are seeking an exceptional children's education specialist to join our team at Public Schools of Robeson County. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing educational and social development opportunities for students with special needs.

As an exceptional children's education specialist, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting instruction that helps students learn subject matter and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of Instructional Time
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure lessons start on schedule.
- Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for each lesson.
- Maintain a high level of student engagement and minimize disruptions.
- Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote good behavior and address misbehavior.
- Monitor student behavior during whole-class, small group, and seat work activities.
- Create engaging and interactive lessons that cater to different learning styles.
- Use technology and multimedia resources to enhance instruction.
- Provide clear instructions and demonstrations to ensure student understanding.
- Circulate around the classroom to check student progress and provide feedback.
- Use various assessment tools to evaluate student understanding.
- Adjust instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to encourage growth and improvement.
- Use verbal and non-verbal cues to reinforce positive behavior.
- Offer additional support to students who require extra help.
- Develop and implement instructional plans that align with school-wide curricular goals.
- Use diagnostic data to inform instruction and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain accurate records to document student performance.
- Treat all students with respect and fairness.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, parents, and community members.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders to share student progress and address concerns.
- Assist with administrative tasks as assigned by the principal.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote a positive school culture.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in education or a related field that qualifies you for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $ $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
