Job Summary:

The South Orange County Community College District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team at Irvine Valley College. As an Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for providing athletic training services to our intercollegiate sports teams, including preventive measures, first aid, and rehabilitative treatment. You will also be responsible for maintaining athletic equipment and facilities, as well as communicating with coaches, athletes, and other health care professionals.

Responsibilities:

* Provide athletic training services to intercollegiate sports teams, including preventive measures, first aid, and rehabilitative treatment.
* Maintain athletic equipment and facilities used in the intercollegiate sports program.
* Communicate with coaches, athletes, and other health care professionals regarding injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation programs.
* Develop and implement rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
* Maintain accurate and timely records related to insurance, injuries, treatment, and athletic equipment and supplies.

Requirements:

* Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in athletic training, kinesiology, physical education, exercise physiology, anatomy, or a related field.
* Two years of experience as an athletic trainer in a high school or college athletic training environment.
* Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid First Aid Certificate.

Work Environment:

The work environment is primarily performed in indoor and outdoor environments, with frequent travel from site to site. The position requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work with athletes on playing fields or in training facilities.

The primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work with athletes on playing fields or in training facilities. The position requires the ability to operate athletic training equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination.

Work Schedule:

The work schedule is TBD, with a short-term, temporary, hourly Non-Bargaining Unit (NBU) assignment, not to exceed 160 days and 960 hours per fiscal year.
