Nurse Flow Manager Perianesthesia

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse Manager to oversee the Perianesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of patient flow and perianesthesia department operations. Responsibilities include directing the efficient flow and movement of patients to and from the PACU department, establishing effective communications with nursing management, anesthesia floor leader, surgeon, and hospital administration, and ensuring optimum utilization of the PACU department. The successful candidate will also develop and maintain a plan of organization that facilitates congruency with organizational goals, monitor the accuracy of the Epic scheduling program, and implement and monitor adherence to personnel and departmental policies. The PACU Manager will work in collaboration with the anesthesia floor leader, nursing management, and surgeons to determine the optimum utilization of the PACU department. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in nursing, current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts, and extensive knowledge of patient flow and perianesthesia department operations. The RN Manager will be responsible for promoting a customer-oriented philosophy among all staff within the area and demonstrating independent judgment within the scope of this position. The Perianesthesia Care Unit Manager will work in a high-volume and high-acuity patient care environment and will be required to work under extremely stressful conditions. The successful candidate will be able to utilize computer applications programs and will have strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills to provide effective leadership for promoting interdisciplinary collaborative teamwork.
