Physician-Author in Emergency Medicine

UWorld, LLC is in search of experienced emergency medicine physicians to contribute to the development and refinement of educational content for our digital platforms.
As a physician-author, you will engage with a dedicated team of medical professionals, editors, and graphic designers to create top-notch materials in emergency medicine for various UWorld question banks. This includes our established USMLE, Internal Medicine (ABIM), and Family Medicine (ABFM) Question Banks, along with other innovative projects currently underway.
Work Schedule:
Physician-authors will maintain a flexible schedule that balances clinical responsibilities with content creation. Typically, this involves working part-time in a clinical setting (e.g., hospitalist or outpatient practice) while dedicating the remaining hours to our corporate office.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:
- ABEP certification or eligibility as an MD
- Outstanding communication abilities, extensive medical knowledge, and a commitment to educating future healthcare professionals
- High performance on ABEM and USMLE Step 1, 2, and 3 examinations
- Previous experience in writing board-style questions, mentoring medical students, or involvement in academic settings is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
As a physician-author, your duties will include:
- Creating original content for the USMLE, ABIM, ABFM, and other UWorld Question Banks, including clinical scenarios and detailed explanations aligned with examination guidelines
- Reviewing and refining content authored by peers, providing constructive feedback focused on accuracy, clarity, and educational value
- Collaborating with the medical illustration team to develop high-quality visuals that enhance understanding of critical medical concepts
- Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of physicians, editors, illustrators, and IT professionals to enhance content quality, streamline processes, and address user feedback
- Completing additional tasks as assigned
