Overview of the Role

The Business Office Representative Clerk is a vital member of our team at SCA Health, supporting the facility's operations by performing various business office functions. These tasks include medical records management, credentialing, admissions, accounts payable, billing, collections, insurance verification, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling surgeries and handling calls from physician offices to coordinate patient scheduling, surgery arrangements, and related activities.
  • Providing exceptional customer service via phone, addressing physician office and patient inquiries efficiently.
  • Ensuring pre-registration processes are completed, obtaining necessary authorization from physicians prior to surgery.
  • Maintaining logs for cancelled appointments and ensuring clean, organized working areas.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in healthcare, with at least one year in surgery scheduling procedures.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with surgery scheduling, receptionist, and registration responsibilities, along with effective stress management skills.
