Job Title: Senior Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse to join our team at US Oncology, Inc. in Sugarland, TX.

About the Role:

The Senior Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care for patients with cancer, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences in the patient population, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique.
  • Assure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, accesses implanted ports, and maintains central lines catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Five years nursing experience.
