Job Title: Phlebotomist

ProMedica Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in Fremont, Ohio.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Phlebotomist to collect blood specimens from patients in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood specimens from patients using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Follow strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis to ensure patient safety.
  • Utilize laboratory computer information systems to track and manage specimens.
  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure accurate test results.
  • Act as a resource and liaison between phlebotomy staff and laboratory teams.
  • Assist in the training of new associates and students.
  • Maintain established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute or one year phlebotomy experience.
  • Successful completion of an academic program with substantial practical clinical phlebotomy experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional registration as a Phlebotomist (PBT(ASCP)).
  • One year experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment.
Working Conditions:

The Phlebotomist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, requiring the ability to move between departments and floors while maintaining confidentiality. The position involves exposure to disease-bearing specimens, blood, and body fluids, and requires the use of personal protective equipment.
