Job Summary:

This is a Senior Fire Protection Engineer Lead position with Outsource Consulting Services, Inc. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fire protection engineering and management at government and nuclear facilities.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced fire protection engineer to lead our team of engineers in support of federal government clients. The successful candidate will have a strong background in NFPA and IBC codes, as well as experience working with complex systems and meeting regulatory requirements.

The role will involve defining scope of technical programs, developing effective solutions, and coordinating activities with other divisions, departments, and sections. The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Define scope of technical programs and develop effective solutions to challenges.
  • Routinely use systems and meet all requirements with little supervisory guidance.
  • Incorporate conventional engineering or scientific practices into problem solving and program planning.
  • Coordinate various phases of the activity and perform development work in assigned field.
  • Ensure compliance with technical requirements, proper utilization and training of personnel.

Requirements:
  • A Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 2 years' experience OR a MS with 5 years' experience OR a BS with 7 years' experience.
  • Has mastered technical field, recognized as internal expert, with depth of knowledge to tackle any problem in field.
  • Has a minimum of 10 years' experience applying and interpreting NFPA and IBC codes.
  • Has a minimum of 10 years' experience in Fire Protection Positions at government and nuclear facilities.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOE Q security clearance.

Benefits and Salary:
This role offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

Location:
This position is based in Aiken, SC and requires up to 70% onsite presence and 30% remote work. The candidate must be willing to travel occasionally to meet client needs.

Certifications and Security Clearance:
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
