Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team at Darling Ingredients Inc.

About the Role

This is a first shift position responsible for overseeing all aspects of environmental compliance inside and outside the plant building. The successful candidate will be responsible for observing all Company safety rules and regulations, recognizing safety as top Company priority and participating in regularly scheduled safety meetings with plant staff.

The Industrial Environmental Compliance Specialist will be responsible for environmental compliance including air and water permits, communication with Corporate Environmental & Safety departments, and assisting in oversight and compliance of odor control plan.

The role also involves overseeing wastewater process & operators while keeping in compliance, conducting wastewater sampling, coordination with chemical companies for receiving chemicals and continuous improvement, and administering Darling Ingredient's Safety program.

The ideal candidate will have technical school Certificate or Associates Degree, minimum 1-3 years of experience in an industrial or agricultural setting, and ability to complete tasks and remain flexible with process changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Compliance: Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to environmental health and safety.
  • Safety Program Administration: Administers Darling Ingredient's Safety program, which includes OSHA safety training, monthly and annual training of employees, safety facility audits, and accident investigations.
  • Wastewater Management: Oversees wastewater process & operators, conducts wastewater sampling, and ensures compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Communication and Coordination: Coordinates with Corporate Environmental & Safety departments, chemical companies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education: Technical school Certificate or Associates Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an industrial or agricultural setting.
  • Skills: Ability to complete tasks and remain flexible with process changes, good understanding of production maintenance and repair protocols.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
