Job Description

The Center for Childhood Obesity Research at Penn State University is seeking a highly skilled Research and Outreach Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing outreach activities and research studies for children and families, requiring strong project management and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall management and leadership of the Center's SNAP-Ed program.
  • Collaborate with the Center director and Lab Manager on strategic planning and long-term goals of the Center.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, outreach partners, and recruitment sites.
  • Oversee the design, development, coordination, and evaluation of outreach and research projects.
  • Develop proposals, research plans, statements of work, budgets, standard operating procedures, and IRB applications.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate compliance documents and reports as required by University and funding agencies.
  • Collaborate on grant proposals, manuscripts, reports, presentations, and other scientific deliverables.
  • Develop and submit annual SNAP-Ed funding proposal and budget.
  • Ensure programs are in compliance with the regulatory standards of funding agencies.
  • Build data collection tools in REDCap and manage incoming data.
  • Oversee evaluation efforts and ensure data quality and timely reporting of statewide data into various systems.
  • Interact with research/outreach participants, collect data, and deliver interventions.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff and students for successful execution and completion of projects.
  • Communicate and form relationships with diverse stakeholders to understand project requirements, goals, and risks/barriers to project success.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement practices and processes.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree or higher, plus one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong project management and leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $61,000 - $102,300.
  • Excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Generous vacation time (24 days per year) and sick time (12 days a year).
  • Paid holidays (13 per calendar year).
