Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Behavior Technician to join our team at the Hamilton County Educational Service Center.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing support to students, teachers, and other interdisciplinary team members in creating a safe and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement individualized behavior intervention plans, educational programs, and Section 504 accommodation plans for students.
  2. Observe and intervene to redirect inappropriate student behavior, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
  3. Provide assistance to teachers when using approved de-escalation techniques and supporting students who need a calming space.
  4. Deliver guided practice and instructional activities to students as directed by educators.
  5. Assist students with adaptive, functional, and life skills as needed.
  6. Support instructional staff with data collection, student work corrections, accommodations, and modifications.
  7. Promote self-management skills among students related to their educational needs.
  8. Implement approved crisis/emergency procedures according to protocol.
  9. Maintain a safe learning environment.
  10. Monitor student behavior throughout the school day, including before classes, during free time, and other assigned periods.
  11. Participate in annual training offered by the educational service center.
  12. Attend and demonstrate competency in behavior technician training developed by Hamilton County ESC.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or national equivalent.
  • Valid Ohio Department of Education Credential (or willingness to obtain).
