About the Role

Mass General Brigham is seeking an experienced Nurse Coordinator to join our team in Brookline, Massachusetts.

This role offers a unique opportunity to provide direct patient care and support nursing practice through education, training, and implementation of evidence-based nursing protocols.

Job Summary
  • Serves as a key member of the interdisciplinary care team, collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient experience and workflow efficiency.
  • Provides leadership in developing and implementing guidelines, protocols, and standards for chemotherapy and medical infusion treatment.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with patients, families, and staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
  1. Supports nursing practice through consultative and role modeling activities.
  2. Applies innovative technology, nursing theories, research findings, and experiential knowledge to improve nursing practice.
  3. Responds to changes in clinical practice by planning, crafting, implementing, or evaluating guidelines, protocols, and standards.
  4. Collaborates with the Nurse Director to provide leadership and education to registered nurses, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
  5. Provides direct patient care, administering chemotherapy, biologics, and medical infusions to pediatric patients.
  6. Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.
  7. Contributes to relevant committees, professional meetings, continuing educational programs, and research initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in pediatric oncology nursing, with a minimum of 5 years' nurse leadership experience.
  • Current licensure as a CNS/NPS in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
  • Chemo certification required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with families, interdisciplinary teams, and referring programs.
  • Dedication to bedside instruction and formal hospital education programs.
