Job Title: Staff RN - Pediatric Cardiac Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff RN to join our Pediatric Cardiac Care team at Children's Hospital & Medical Center. As a Staff RN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to our young patients with cardiac conditions.

Job Summary:

The Staff RN will be responsible for coordinating professional nursing and individualized, family-centered care to pediatric patients and families through the use of the nursing process and clinical skills in accordance with standards and hospital policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric cardiac care and be able to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide care excellence to patients and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individualized age-specific patient/family assessments according to defined unit scope and nursing practice standards.
  • Collect and document data related to patient's individualized care.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient/family plans of care using collaborative problems, nursing diagnoses, and practice guidelines/protocols.
  • Provide and/or coordinate with other disciplines patient/family education according to identified care needs.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record.
Requirements:
  • Diploma, Associates, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
  • Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
  • Current and valid Nebraska RN license/RN Compact license required.
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association required.
  • Current and valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6-months of hire.
  • Current and valid Pediatric Life Advanced Life Support (PALS) required, within 6 months of hire.
