Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at the City of Acworth. As a key member of our utility crew, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our electrical infrastructure.

About the Role

This is a journey-level position that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. You will work under general supervision, with some autonomy to make decisions and take initiative. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Construct and maintain electrical overhead and underground lines and equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical substation system equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair transmission system infrastructure.
  • Perform duties in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the training of Apprentice Lineworkers.
  • Respond to power outages, emergency situations, or customer concerns.
  • Troubleshoot transmission, substation, distribution, secondary service, and streetlight systems.
  • Operate a variety of construction equipment as needed.
  • Prepare daily activity and other reports as required.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of electrical infrastructure design principles and practices.
  • Experience with construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia.
  • Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies within 45 minutes.
Working Conditions

This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather. You will be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. Protective gear such as masks, goggles, and gloves will be provided.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is between $70,000 and $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This salary range is based on industry standards and takes into account the level of expertise and responsibility required for this role.
