MySQL Database Engineer

At Convoso, we are seeking a highly skilled MySQL Database Engineer to join our team as a Scalable Systems Specialist. As part of this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining complex databases to support our business growth.
About the JobThe successful candidate will have a strong background in database management systems, with expertise in MySQL/MariaDB configuration and data modeling. You will work closely with our development team to ensure that our databases are scalable, performant, and meet the evolving needs of our business.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and supporting existing databases, including migrations, backups, and replications;
- Designing and implementing new database schemas to optimize performance and scalability;
- Collaborating with our development team to identify opportunities for database improvements and implement changes;
- Ensuring high availability and reliability of our databases through proactive monitoring and maintenance;
- Providing expert guidance on database best practices and security measures;
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on MySQL/MariaDB;
- Solid understanding of database concepts, including ACID compliance, abstraction levels, and schema design;
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with experience in database performance analysis and optimization;
- Familiarity with storage, networking, and other systems impacting database performance;
- Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Zabbix;
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, or Perl;
- Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
