Odor Control Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Odor Technician to join our team at Interstate Waste Services. As an Odor Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the landfill stays in compliance with nuisance odor regulations in the surrounding community.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect offsite odor complaints in a reliable and efficient manner.
• Detect and identify different odors and their sources in the community.
• Perform traffic control duties, including guiding vehicles and equipment to designated areas.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, employees, and management via handheld radios and CBs.
• Clean and maintain vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Fuel vehicles and equipment.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and wear required PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management, including janitorial support and filing paperwork.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license.
• At least 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Clean driving record.
• Knowledge of basic GPS systems.
• Basic data entry and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work in an outdoor environment with variable weather conditions, temperatures, chemicals, dust, fumes, smells, and loud noises.
