Job OverviewAs a Combat Mortar Specialist in the Army National Guard, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Infantry's most powerful weapon - the mortar. This role requires a high level of physical fitness, mental toughness, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and Maintain Mortars: Set up, load, and fire mortars in various combat situations.
- Lead and Train Teams: Supervise and train other soldiers, lead mortar squads, and provide tactical guidance to subordinates.
- Conduct Reconnaissance: Perform scouting missions to gather intelligence on enemy positions and movements.
Ranges from $40,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
Requirements- Age: Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
- Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Physical Fitness: Must meet the Army National Guard's physical fitness standards.
