Job Title: Program Specialist

This position is located at the National Cemetery Scheduling Office in St. Louis, MO.

The National Cemetery Scheduling Office (NCSO) is a national call center responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to support Veterans and their eligible dependents for scheduling burials and memorial services in a VA National Cemetery.

This is a bargaining unit position represented by AFGE.

The Program Specialist serves as a Learning Coordinator within the National Cemetery Administration (NCA), Field Programs, National Cemetery Scheduling Office (NCSO) in St. Louis, MO.

The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of training to include planning, developing, maintaining, and delivering operational training curriculum for the NCSO.

Training delivery includes new employee training, employee refresher training, and leadership development courses.

The incumbent collaborates with NCSO divisions on new content requirements, content updates, and training trends.

This position also serves as the Learning Coordinator for other Field Programs offices and works with the National Training Center (NTC) for content development and integration of courseware into the Talent Management System (TMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for NCSO employees
  • Collaborate with NCSO divisions on training content and trends
  • Work with the National Training Center (NTC) on content development and integration
  • Develop and maintain operational training curriculum for the NCSO

Requirements:

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization
  • Experience in training and development, adult education, or a related field
  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs for diverse audiences
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
