Inventory Control Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Lead to join our Quality Assurance team at Saks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven track record of driving operational efficiency and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the quality and timeliness of resolution to issues related to inbound receipts, returns, and transfers, as well as customer service-related communications.
- Generate QA reports and make recommendations to optimize accuracy and quality processes, reducing defects and errors.
- Identify, develop, and implement department improvements to drive operational successes.
- Monitor departmental performance and oversee day-to-day operations to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) deadlines.
- Understand and communicate departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conduct regular performance reviews with employees.
- Audit and research results in various Warehouse Management System (WMS) software.
- Investigate and resolve defective items, reporting trends to management.
- Ensure timely processing of Mark Out of Stock/RTVs/Sell-Off/Store-to-Store transfers related to Quality Control.
- Respond to customer service inquiries or website variances.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
- Utilize quality systems such as JIRA, Product Information Management (PIM), and SynQ on a daily basis.
- Manage and respond to administrative tasks, including emails and Slack messages.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain inventory control areas, including supplies and housekeeping.
- Perform scheduled inventory audits according to standard operating procedures.
- Identify and report non-inventory conforming units to leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in a retail, wholesale, or direct-to-consumer inventory control function, preferably in an automated environment.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
- Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a neat and organized workspace.
- Must be able to communicate effectively during the interview process.
